Walters Wedding Estates, a brand of Walters Hospitality is the ultimate gathering place for weddings and special events. We are a family-owned business that currently operates 30 beautiful ceremony, reception and special event venues across Texas and Georgia. With thousands of weddings under our belt we provide exceptional event services for the most special day of our clients’ lives. Position Overview We are seeking a high-caliber, experienced Regional Facilities Manager to lead the physical operations and asset management for our luxury wedding venue portfolio in the Austin region. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for maintaining "platinum-standard" property conditions while balancing fiscal responsibility. You will serve as the bridge between hands-on technical execution and executive-level reporting. Your mission is to lead a team of MaintenanceTechnicians, manage a diverse vendor base, and ensure every property in the region is safe, compliant, and aesthetically flawless. You will report directly to the Director of Facilities and work closely with the Regional VP of Operations to align facility performance with business goals.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8–10+ years in Facilities Management, with at least 3 years in a regional or multi-site leadership capacity. Experience in high-end hospitality or luxury event spaces is a significant advantage.
  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or Business preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., FMP, CFM, or PMP) are highly valued. Work experience can be substituted for a degree.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial building systems, including building envelopes, interior finishes, and complex exterior water features.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level experience with CMMS platforms, project management software, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and "diplomacy" skills—able to speak the language of a technician in the morning and a Vice President in the afternoon.
  • Mobility: Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel frequently between Austin-area properties.
  • Ability to work Weekends/Nights and Holidays as needed

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Performance
  • Direct Supervision: Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of in-house Facilities Maintenance Technicians across multiple properties.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular site audits to ensure technician repairs (carpentry, finishes, water features) meet our high-end brand standards.
  • Safety Culture: Standardize safety protocols across the region to ensure 100% compliance for guest and staff protection.
  • Vendor & Contract Management
  • External Partnerships: Source, vet, and manage third-party vendors for specialized trades (landscaping, roofing, major MEP, fire/life safety).
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure high-quality results at competitive regional rates.
  • Financial Stewardship & Planning
  • Budget Management: Oversee the regional Facilities O&M (Operations & Maintenance) budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • CapEx Forecasting: Develop and maintain a 3-to-5-year Capital Expenditure plan for major asset replacements and property enhancements.
  • Cost Control: Implement strategies to reduce utility consumption and reactive repair costs through rigorous preventative maintenance.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all properties meet local Austin/Texas building codes, ADA requirements, and fire marshal standards.
  • Data-Driven Management: Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to generate monthly reports on work order completion, asset health, and labor distribution.
  • Executive Communication: Provide regular updates to the Director of Facilities and Regional VP regarding project status, budget variances, and regional "readiness."
