About The Position

Waséyabek Development Company, LLC (WDC), is a newly formed legal entity, created and wholly owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), a federally recognized Indian Tribe. WDC is committed to fostering the development of a stable, diversified economy for the Band which will contribute to its long-term wealth and economic self-sufficiency while managing risk and creating quality employment opportunities. The Technical Manager is the senior Site Operations Support manager responsible for the administrative and technical management of the operations, maintenance, engineering, warehouse, property, motor pool, and grounds/janitorial scopes including cost control, schedule control and overall performance. This position is a direct report to the Program Manager and an identified Key Position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, engineering, or business field with more than fifteen (15) years of related work experience in the management of research, development, demonstration, or commercial programs, projects, and facilities.
  • More than seven (7) years of consecutive experience in managing diverse and integrated workforces (e.g., professionals, engineers, scientists, technicians, craftsmen, etc.).
  • Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.
  • Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule, and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check, and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WDC.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in a scientific or engineering field with more than twenty (20) years of related work experience in the management of multi-million-dollar research, development, demonstration, or commercial programs, projects, and facilities.
  • More than ten (10) years of consecutive experience in managing diverse and integrated workforces (e.g., professionals, engineers, scientists, technicians, craftsmen, etc.).
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and execute such technical directions as the government Contracting Officer Representative (COR) may issue within the terms and conditions of the contract
  • Respond to Task Order requests with technical proposals, staffing, and cost requirements in accordance with established government timelines
  • Hire and retain resources necessary to effectively and efficiently manage the Site Operation Support scope within the approved budget
  • Sponsor contract/client planning meetings designed to broadly communicate planned work and schedule
  • Foster a Zero Incident and Injury culture across the three NETL sites
  • Monitor client feedback and execute appropriate corrective actions as necessary for continuous performance improvement
  • Direct the investigation and resolution of operational issues utilizing technical and engineering subject matter experts
  • Openly and frequently communicate with Union leadership to foster effective working relationships
  • Safety – as a company Senior Manager, will be responsible for fostering a safety culture of Zero Incidents and Injuries. Sponsor and execute a monthly safety meeting schedule to include select staff members as presenters.
  • Community Involvement – participate in local community activities as a senior management representative of the company. May be required to attend or support regional and local Small Business Conferences, local charitable events, and special NETL programs.
  • Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.
