Metron, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Facilities Technician who will be responsible for maintaining the physical infrastructure of our offices in the Northern Virginia area. The Facilities Technician will perform and coordinate general maintenance, repairs, reconfiguration and cosmetic updates within our headquarters in Reston, VA and office space in Sterling, VA. The role is a full-time, in-person position (40 hours/week) and will report to the Director of Security.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
  • US Citizenship is required; successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (SECRET level clearance)

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with building maintenance, or facilities operations
  • Apprenticeship, vocational education or technical certification in building maintenance or related trade
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and executing facilities work orders and maintenance requests
  • Coordinating, scheduling, and overseeing specialized external vendors for periodic maintenance, minor repairs, and ad-hoc build-out projects that require licensed expertise
  • Performing and prioritizing minor general building repairs
  • Creating checklists for and performing routine preventative maintenance tasks for facility equipment, basic building infrastructure, and common areas
  • Independently managing and executing physical logistics for office changes, moves, and company events, including assembling small office furniture, setting up tables/chairs, and ensuring meeting room organization
  • Acting as a first responder to urgent facility issues diagnosing the problem and resolving, or clearly defining the scope and coordinating the engagement of service vendors
  • Conducting periodic facility walkthroughs to check for hazards, ensuring building aesthetics are maintained, and verifying all safety equipment is current and accessible
  • Assisting the Office Administrator in maintaining stocks of general office supplies and materials
  • Working closely with Metron Security and IT to manage service vendors working on-site, including physical escorting and visitor coordination
