About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the daily operations of the campus Facility Control Center. Assist with the coordination of major facilities activities and provide updates and situation reports on planned and unplanned outages, major maintenance and repairs, maintenance inquiries, and monitoring a wide variety of systems and devices on various platforms. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Monitor & Coordinate Monitor facility networks for anomalies, disruptions and critical alarms. In conjunction with the USG, responsible for the opening, tracking and closing of planned outages. Coordinate emergency access for subcontractors and vendors for repairs and troubleshooting. Follow up on outstanding issues to ensure they are resolved timely and efficiently following all MOPs. Review and help prioritize service requests from the customer. Upload in MAXIMO and assign to the applicable team. Track progress and completion and provide feedback to the customer. Assist with ensuring the operability of the campus back-up Facility Control Center. Communicate Provide updates to COPT and customer leadership on facility issues including but not limited to planned and unplanned outages, major maintenance activities, PTN fit-up projects and system/component trouble shooting and repair. Report Report on system/equipment issues, to include the status of trouble shooting and repairs. Provide situation reports and updates to several layers of customer leadership on emergency operations and repairs, HAZMAT incidents, and bulk deliveries of hazardous chemicals and fuel. Technical Assist with SCADA and BMS operations, as necessary. Assist office IT personnel with facility network updates and uploads. Assist office IT personnel with the installation and repair of IT and AV equipment. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Stay current in industry best practices for data center and other related facilities maintenance and operations. Quality control. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education - High school diploma, training or education related to facility IT systems.
  • Further Training - Knowledge of AUTOCAD, ability to read design and construction drawings to include electrical one-line diagrams.
  • Professional Experience - Three years of related work experience as information technology specialist or an operations watch officer.
  • Computer Skills - PC proficiency to include (but not limited to) Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong time management skills and sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Troubleshooting skills to resolve issues.
  • Required to carry and maintain appropriate government credentials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with facility automated systems, building information system (BIM), database and scheduling programs preferred.
  • AUTOCAD experience.
  • Ability to adapt to new or changing software programs.
