About The Position

Queens College is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facility Coordinator to oversee athletic and recreational facility rentals and daily setup operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all rentals and scheduled activities run smoothly, safely, and in accordance with facility policies. The Facility Coordinator serves as the on-site point of contact during rentals and plays a key role in maintaining the appearance, functionality, and readiness of all assigned spaces. This position requires a strong sense of accountability, attention to detail, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively to unexpected situations. The Facility Coordinator represents the department during all assigned shifts and is expected to provide professional and courteous service at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • One year college experience.

  • The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on rental schedules, as well as the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving equipment, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in facilities operations, event support, or athletic field management is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee facility rentals from start to finish, including preparation, on-site supervision, and post-event cleanup.
  • Setting up and breaking down soccer fields and practice fields according to event requirements
  • Opening and closing facilities as scheduled
  • Managing the closing of the tennis bubble when required.
  • Remain on-site during rentals to monitor activities, address issues as they arise, and ensure compliance with rental agreements, safety standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Cleaning and restoring spaces after rentals
  • Inspecting fields and equipment before and after use
  • Reporting maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
