About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining and upkeep of water district grounds, buildings, and structures. Job Description Essential Functions and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Perform tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and other general maintenance on TRWD buildings, structures, and grounds Transporting materials and equipment for maintenance projects Responsible for the start and finish of assigned projects including, but not limited to, project planning, design, estimating labor and materials, and leading work crews Perform data entry for work orders and for timekeeping Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean work environment Interact and coordinate with other TRWD personnel May supervisor and direct the work of others to include performance evaluations and discipline After hours Emergency Response Participate in an on-call rotation Report maintenance or structural issues to department supervisor Participate in applicable condition assessments Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts Identify training budget needs Performance review alignment Job description review Perform other duties as required At TRWD, we pride ourselves on the sustainability we bring to our clients, communities, and employees. Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field
  • Four (4) years progression of leadership experience
  • Ability to read and interpret building blueprints
  • Ability to estimate labor and material costs for assigned projects
  • Can manage a project from start to finish with limited guidance from a supervisor
  • Proficiency with software programs such as Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • High School Diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a specialized field of the building industry such as project planning, drafting, plumbing, electrical or building management
  • Four (4) years of field experience with direct supervision by a journeyman or master in a related field
  • State of Texas electrical license
  • State of Texas plumbing license
  • Associate degree in related field
  • An accredited apprenticeship certification in the building trades
  • Good communication skills
  • Influence and motivation of others
  • Be self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Ability to utilize writing skills to create memorandums, project updates, and justifications
  • Be able to work within and promote a team environment.

Responsibilities
