About The Position

The College of Health Professions at Mercer University invites applications for a full-time faculty member for the Doctor of Psychology Program. This position is for a non-tenure track faculty in a progressive and innovative department that emphasizes evidence-based treatment, an integrative approach to healthcare, and interaction with our other partner programs (Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, Athletic Training, and Kinesiology). Rank will be determined based on the credentials of the selected candidate. Requirements

  • General qualifications include a degree from an APA-accredited PhD or PsyD Clinical Psychology program and completion of an APA-accredited internship.
  • Active, unrestricted license to practice as a clinical psychologist in Georgia or immediate eligibility is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching, supervising, and mentoring graduate students is preferred.
  • Preference for this position will be given to someone with expertise and teaching experience in Cognitive Assessment .
  • A background in clinical neuropsychology, with the ability to teach Neuropsychological Assessment and Biological Bases of Behavior , is also desirable.
  • Other areas of expertise within clinical psychology will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include doctoral student classroom instruction and evaluation
  • Small group support for clinical training
  • Advisement and mentoring of students
  • Admissions and accreditation activities
  • Committee involvement
  • Scholarly activities to include publications, grants, presentations, and collaborative projects
  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, clinical training, and student mentorship within a practitioner-scholar model
  • The ideal candidates also will have a strong research orientation with established or potential for extramural support
