The Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute at Kent State University (KSU) seeks to hire an outstanding scientist at any level working in experimental advanced materials and/or at the interface to soft matter science, broadly defined. Areas of interest may include liquid crystals, nanomaterials, biomaterials, polymers as well as biomimetic, responsive and adaptive materials as well as any combination thereof. The successful candidate will develop an innovative, strong extramurally funded research program that attracts the participation of students and postdocs, and creates strong collaborative links with researchers in key departments in the College of Arts and Sciences (Physics, Chemistry & Biochemistry, and Biological Sciences) as well as other institutes (such as the Brain Health Research Institute and Design Innovation) and initiatives at KSU. Collaborative and highly interdisciplinary research agendas will be viewed as particularly attractive assets for candidates applying for this position.
