About The Position
This position is responsible for: Receives, sorts, and stores donated items in the Warehouse storage area; determines the acceptability of donated items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to the category and condition Tags items with dates in accordance with established procedures Prepares non-suitable items for discard Lifts and carries items to the appropriate destination for further processing and storage Maintains warehouse and loading dock area in a neat and orderly manner; cleans floors, tables and work areas. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements; Ability to communicate the English language. Ability to physically lift and carry and /or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to communicate the English language
- Ability to physically lift and carry and /or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.)
- Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
- No formal education or experience required.
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
