About The Position

Wake Forest University School of Medicine and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center are recruiting post-doctoral fellows in cancer prevention and control. Supported by a National Cancer Institute (T32CA122061) grant, we will train the next generation of cancer control researchers with an explicit focus on reducing the evidence-to-practice gap in cancer care delivery through translational science. Core competencies of the training program include cancer control research, implementation science, informatics, cancer care delivery, and health systems scientists. Fellows will work with experienced faculty members to complete a two to three year training program and will gain skills to meaningfully engage in team science, lead translational and high impact research, and successfully compete for extramural funding. Requirements

  • PhD in relevant field
  • Career interest and experience in cancer survivorship
  • Excellent written and oral skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and assist with data analyses for manuscript preparation
  • Initiate and assist the writing of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed academic journals
  • Responsible for developing pilot project and grant proposals
  • Present research at professional meetings
  • Participate in multidisciplinary research teams
  • Attend relevant seminars, meetings, national conferences and other cancer related events as requested
  • Participate in career development activities
