About The Position

Velocity Network, Northwest Pennsylvania’s leading technology services firm, is currently searching for a Fiber Optics Installer and Service Technician to join our growing team. This position is responsible for installing, testing, repairing and maintaining technology to deliver internet, video and phone services to customer homes. Duties include but are not limited to: Performing construction work using designated equipment (i.e. digging holes, running fiber lines underground, etc.) Installing, rearranging, and maintaining inside wiring. Connecting, disconnecting, testing, repairing and maintaining the various types of company and customer provided internet, video and phone equipment. Identifying and meeting individual customer requirements on installation and/or repair contacts. Reviewing and interpreting underground and aerial cable records in the existing record, on maps or in the field. Maintaining and reviewing system documentation. The qualified candidate must have outstanding communication skills, the ability to problem solve and work independently, and a satisfactory DMV record. Previous experience with DSL, Fiber, Telco or home internal wiring is preferred. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, however during training the hours will be from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
