About The Position

Verita is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to join our growing team. The Fiber Splicer will be responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber optic cable in aerial and underground environments. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in the field.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a Fiber Splicer (preferred)
• Experience with fusion splicing and fiber testing equipment
• Ability to read and understand fiber maps and as-builts
• Familiarity with common fiber types and counts (12–864 count)
• Comfortable working in outdoor environments and confined spaces
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Nice To Haves

• CFOT or equivalent fiber certification
• OSHA 10/30
• Bucket truck or aerial lift certification

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber optic splicing (single-mode and multi-mode) using fusion splicing techniques
• Read and interpret fiber prints, splice schematics, and construction documents
• Prep and splice fiber in aerial, underground, handhole, and enclosure environments
• Install, dress, and label fiber optic cables and splice enclosures
• Conduct fiber testing including OTDR, power meter, and light source testing
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber issues, outages, and damage
• Maintain accurate splicing documentation and test results
• Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and project teams
• Maintain splicing equipment, tools, and work vehicles
