Field Applications Engineer Toradex is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to join the US team in Seattle. This is a hybrid role working from the Seattle office 3 days per week. We are searching for both a Senior FAE and a more junior FAE looking to gain knowledge and experience in the field. At Toradex, we build the technology behind the world’s smart devices. From industrial automation to IoT solutions, our embedded computing platforms help companies create reliable, scalable, and high-performing products and this position will be the link between Toradex and the addressable market of customers. The most important goal for the Field Application Engineer is to ensure customer success. As a senior member of our Customer Success team, you will utilize your expertise in embedded computing software and hardware to guide our diverse client base through integrations and troubleshooting, ensuring the success of their projects. Your role extends beyond traditional support, encompassing deeply understanding customer needs and providing technical solutions, comprehensive product demonstrations, and active participation in shaping the future of our ARM-based technologies. Requirements

3+ years of experience in the field of embedded systems, industrial computers, industrial IoT applications or related industries and applications.
Ability to provide technical product consultation and demonstrations and understand customer requirements and communicate product benefits to customers.
Experience on customer support/success routine. Remote troubleshooting and consultative problem solving.
Deep understanding of embedded operating systems such as Embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, or other RTOS.
Proven experience and knowledge on Yocto, Linux Kernel and FOSS community.
Familiarity with industrial interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, USB, SDIO, MIPI, Ethernet, Wireless, etc.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering or related technical background is required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with technical requirements analysis & system-level design.
Experience with Android, Debian, Balena, Mender.
Experience with GUI frameworks like Qt, Crank, LVGL.
Experience with PCB design and Electronics Design.
Experience it Containers and DevOps.
Passionate and experienced in selling technology (computer hardware, software and services).

Responsibilities

Serve as a subject matter expert on our offers in hardware and software, providing in-depth technical knowledge and support to customers evaluating our solutions.
Collaborate with Technical Sales Engineers and customers to understand their unique requirements and challenges, offering customized solutions and recommendations based on Toradex product portfolio.
Assist customers with the integration and deployment of ARM SoMs in their applications, ensuring successful project outcomes and the maximization of Toradex product added value to customers.
Actively follow-up on key customer design and ensure a smooth utilization of the company solutions support customers to achieve the fatest time to market and lowest cost of ownership and take full advantage of Toradex USPs.
Act as a primary point of contact for customers, providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support. Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, both remotely and on-site when necessary.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to address customer challenges and provide timely solutions. Escalate bugs and feature requests with subject experts and product management.
Develop and deliver technical training sessions for customers to enhance their understanding of ARM-based technologies.
