This role serves as a critical link between field crews, supervisors, and the maintenance department — ensuring equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for daily operations. This is a field-based position requiring regular travel to job sites in and out of town, including overnight stays. The Field Equipment Coordinator will be embedded with field crews, attending safety meetings and developing hands-on familiarity with the equipment and the people who operate it.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational coursework is a plus
  • Prior experience in construction, heavy equipment, or a related field operations environment preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude; ability to perform minor repairs with standard hand tools
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — specifically in tracking inspection dates and completing accurate reports
  • Proficiency with email, document scanning, and file attachment (Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field crews, operators, and supervisors
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to travel to multiple job sites including overnight stays
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically move around active construction sites

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing heavy equipment is a plus but not required

  • Coordinate with Supervisors to ensure operators are completing daily equipment checks correctly and consistently, working alongside supervisors to reinforce compliance
  • Complete and submit daily inspection reports via email, attaching supporting documentation as required
  • Scan and attach photos, forms, and maintenance records to the appropriate reports
  • Maintain basic computer skills sufficient for email communication, document scanning, and file attachments
  • Perform small repairs on equipment using basic hand tools — including GPS trackers, lights, seatbelts, horns, and backup alarms
  • Communicate all inspection findings to the maintenance department to coordinate and schedule any required repairs beyond minor fixes
  • Travel to all assigned job sites, including out-of-town locations, with the ability to stay overnight as needed
  • Attend morning safety meetings with field crews to discuss equipment maintenance topics and address operator concerns
  • Serve as a resource for operators regarding equipment condition, reporting procedures, and daily inspection expectations
