RCC is seeking a talented Field Geologist II to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Round Rock, Texas office. RRC is seeking a qualified Geotechnical Engineering Field Technician/Geologist (Travel) to support RRCs projects throughout the United States. This position is based in RRCs Round Rock, Texas office. Requirements

  • BS or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, and Geophysics preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Willing to travel and work in various site conditions and project locations throughout the United States.
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs.
  • Valid driver license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Please note that extensive travel (95-100%) throughout the United States will be required.
  • The applicant must have good oral and written communication skills and the ability to lead or be part of a project team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in outdoor/field working/driving conditions is preferred.
  • Previous experience in Geotechnical drilling/sampling and construction material testing in soil and concrete is preferred.
  • Willing to relocate to RRC's Round Rock, TX Office.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigation programs and geophysical surveys under specific work instructions as provided by the engineering staff.
  • The fieldwork will include geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging.
  • Additionally, geophysical surveys will consist of performing seismic surveys, earth electrical resistivity surveys, and other appropriate surveys as directed by a project geophysicist.
  • Observation and documentation of geotechnical construction activities and perform construction material testing/inspection during construction phases.
  • Perform other engineering activities as required.
