We’re seeking a highly organized and proactive Field Process Engineer to be the Director of Industrial Engineering’s eyes, ears, and hands-on support. This is a collaborative role that will design, analyze, improve, and control processes and reliably turn inputs into great outputs—over and over again—at scale.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • 5 + years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing, or operations
  • Strong understanding of process design, optimization, and control
  • Experience with data analysis, SPC, and root cause analysis tools
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement frameworks
  • A working knowledge of (and obsession with) tools, jigs, methods, and materials, from both the construction and manufacturing environments
  • A working knowledge of (and obsession with) DFMA and experience providing constructive feedback up to design, engineering, manufacturing, and materials teams
  • An excellent working knowledge of MS office suite, including professional use of excel with some VBA and power query, exposure to SolidWorks and SolidWorks Composer, exposure to Jira and Confluence, exposure to MS Project or project management software / tools / techniques

Responsibilities

  • Document processes in the field, resources used (manpower, tools, equipment), video and picture libraries and excel logs will be work product, (material handling exposure)
  • Capture actual times for processes (using best practices aligned with our models), capture start and stop conditions, apply performance ratings, deduct time for out of process activities
  • Define processes, improve work bucketing strategy for large content work buckets based on actual performance of trades in the field
  • Create and implement continuous process improvements, (kanbans, pokeokes, feedback loops, tooling, signage)
  • Provide time and manpower data for the build out of a process and labor allocations model, assist in building that model
