About The Position

Zipline is building the future of instant delivery. As a Field Sales Representative, you will work with our commercial leadership to sign up local restaurant and retail partners in Austin. You will directly own specific sales regions within the coverage area of our drone delivery network. You will be responsible for identifying attractive restaurant and retail prospects, and then reaching out to these prospects to explain our service and sign partnership agreements. You are our important ‘eyes and ears’ on the ground - learning what are the most popular restaurants and retailers in each community and actively engaging with these merchants to join our delivery platform. To do this role well you will need to be curious, driven and a passionate communicator. You should have good sales skills and instincts, and an ability to explain new ideas and concepts in a simple and compelling way. Finally you should be a tenacious self starter who is comfortable bringing prospects along a journey. This role will be based locally in Austin, Texas and will involve a mix of telephone, email and face-to-face in market sales.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in field sales, door-to-door sales or telesales - ideally with a delivery marketplace or direct sales of products and services to restaurants and retailers
  • Ability to learn and pragmatically iterate your sales approach so as to establish an effective sales motion with different merchant types
  • Exceptional communication skills that build confidence and credibility
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and map stakeholders, develop relationships with decision makers, and maintain a network of relationships to promote partnerships
  • Inherent self-sufficiency, flexibility and confidence, with a preference for autonomously owning activities that drive revenue
  • Collaborative approach to sales that includes working with multiple groups both internally and externally
  • Familiarity with the business models and value drivers for delivery marketplaces (e.g. Uber Eats, DoorDash), retailers and restaurants

Responsibilities

  • Work with our metro commercial leadership and network design team to identify a target list of restaurant and retail partner prospects around each of our sites
  • Make cold call reach outs to prospects - phone, email, face-to-face
  • Drive an effective sales process: from source to close - exceeding sales targets
  • Craft effective sales pitches that show an understanding of a prospects business and resonates with their needs and ambitions
  • Evangelize and articulate the benefits of Zipline to prospective customers
  • Collaborate with commercial and sales leadership to create compelling presentations, proposals and pitch materials
  • Build an ongoing rapport with prospects throughout the sales process so as to create a trusted relationship between Zipline and our merchant partners
