As a Field Service Engineer III, you'll provide expert installation, maintenance, and repair services for sophisticated analytical and microscopy equipment. Working with advanced technology, you'll deliver outstanding technical support while building strong relationships with customers across research institutions, universities, and industrial facilities. You'll resolve complex issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and train users to ensure optimal system performance. Requirements

  • Advanced Degree, no prior experience required OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex analytical instruments
  • Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues down to component level
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to effectively train and support customers on equipment operation
  • Demonstrated success in meeting customer satisfaction goals
  • Experience documenting service activities and preparing detailed reports
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Ability to respond to customer needs with short notice
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50–75% within assigned territory
  • Adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various laboratory environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software
  • Proficiency in English required; additional languages beneficial

  • Preferred fields of study: Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment
  • Additional relevant certifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure customer needs are met as the primary regional field service engineer.
  • Conduct on-site installation, repair, testing, and maintenance of Electron Microscopes (Focused Ion Beam Electron Microscopes, Scanning Electron Microscopes, Transmission Electron Microscopes)
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment, providing support to customers and other field service personnel.
  • Develop positive working relationships with customers and company personnel.
  • Submit detailed field service reports.
  • Provide training and mentorship to customers and new field service engineers.
  • Offer feedback to product quality and sales teams and update system documentation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for training.
