About The Position

INFICON is a leading provider of innovative instrumentation, critical sensor technologies, and Smart Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 software solutions that enhance productivity and quality of tools, processes, and complete factories. These analysis, measurement and control products are essential for gas leak detection in air conditioning/refrigeration and automotive manufacturing. They are vital to equipment manufacturers and end-users in the complex fabrication of semiconductors and thin film coatings for optics, flat panel displays, solar cells and industrial vacuum coating applications. Other users of our vacuum-based processes include the life sciences, research, aerospace, packaging, heat treatment, laser cutting and many other industrial processes. We also leverage our expertise in vacuum technology to provide unique, toxic chemical analysis products for emergency response, security, and environmental health and safety. The Field Service Representative is responsible for inspection, troubleshooting, scheduling, and execution of repairs and preventative maintenance at customer sites. Must be self-motivated to work unsupervised in customer environments which may include assembly lines, laboratories, semiconductor fabs, etc. Travel up to 50% may be required. Territory will include but may not be limited to Northern, CA and the Pacific Northwest. Duties may include but are not limited to: Learn the INFICON SAP system and research processes as needed to support customers order entry and KAMs and contribute to the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) Provide technical and applications support with guidance by supervisor. Provide INFICON Key Account Managers and management with feedback on products accounts and competitive trends as observed while carrying out the position standard job functions. Under minimal supervision and using judgment and discretion interface with our internal and external customers and make recommendations concerning Field Service Technique and Applications. Inside INFICON contribute to improving our position in the market via product line revisions service strategy changes and service or sales policy changes. Act as a role model by responding and assisting all customers in a positive and supportive manner. Maintain INFICON's ISO 9001 registration by keeping procedures and files up-to-date recommending improvements as appropriate and maintaining an awareness of pertinent procedures in all departments. Must be willing to travel during the initial training phase if necessary. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated self-starter.
  • Strong People Skills and Adaptability to focus on excellence in customer focus.
  • 2+ years of experience in repair or military equivalent
  • An Associates of Science degree in a technical field or an equivalent technical/military experience/certification.
  • Must have computer experience (MS Office) with CRM sales automation software experience preferred.
  • Must be able to lift carry and push up to 75lbs on a daily basis.
  • May require sustained visual concentration on small areas (e.g. monitors, screens, spreadsheets, legal documents, microscopes)

Nice To Haves

  • Vacuum physics based instrument experience is preferred.
