About The Position

The Field Service Technician III is a senior-level position that involves performing expert-level technical maintenance, repair, and support for complex systems. This role requires advanced diagnostic skills, leadership abilities, and the capacity to manage field projects independently. The technician will also play a key role in developing training materials and protocols for both customers and internal teams. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience as a technician or in a related field. Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret basic technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
  • Progressive experience using troubleshooting techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical wiring concepts.
  • Ability to frequently travel outside the continental US, typically for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 90/90 rotation.
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in a related field of study.
  • Experience with FCC or FCC General Radio Operator License (GROL).
  • Prior experience with Security+, Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and/or A+.
  • Basic understanding of Spectrometer, Oscilloscope, and/or Pitot Static equipment gauges.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.
  • Experience in leading technical teams or projects.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform expert-level maintenance and repairs on complex aerospace and defense systems.
  • Independently manage field service projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Diagnose and resolve the most challenging technical issues.
  • Lead and mentor junior and mid-level technicians, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Develop and deliver advanced training programs for customers and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all field activities and equipment status.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
  • Oversee inventory management for spare parts and tools.
  • Generate comprehensive technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Travel extensively to customer sites, potentially including international locations.
