The Field Training Specialist is responsible for motivating and training retail sales associates within their designated area to deliver a consistent and exceptional customer experience that drives sales performance and promotes the Mattress Firm vision to become America's most trusted authority on sleep.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Education, Human Resources, Business or related field required
  • 2+ Years Relevant and progressive experience in store leadership and/or training preferred
  • Skilled in developing and delivering effective presentations.
  • Effectively plans time to allow efficient completion of tasks in timely manner.
  • Sets clear and specific goals and regularly check on progress towards those goals.
  • Ability to accurately convey a message to others through written, verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Appropriately acts in the moment to specific situations based on insights and perceptions.
  • Creative ability to invent and develop original ideas and turn new and imaginative ideas into reality.
  • Ability to lead complex campaigns involving cross functional teams from concept to completion.
  • Skilled at building rapport with individuals at all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of learning and development programs and initiatives including coordination, facilitation and evaluation within designated area.
  • Provide training in settings such as classroom, hands-on practice and on-the-job using a variety of instructional techniques.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of training programs, working closely with Sales Support Center stakeholders to provide feedback.
  • Coach and motivate management and retail sales associates to improve knowledge and performance in stores.
  • Establish educational direction, mentor, and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create comprehensive reports, analysis, and evaluations of training to help monitor completion and effectiveness.
  • Follow up on training progress for associates to appropriate individuals.
  • Help drive change to CX behaviors, through strong cross-functional relationships, to ensure the Sleep Experts have the tools needed to deliver great experiences.
  • Post implementation of projects, review (qualitatively and quantitatively) how the program is working, identify changes needed, and implement next-up initiatives.
  • Partner with DFD, DVP, RVPs, and other key field stakeholders to ensure the voice of the field and needs of the customer are incorporated into all solutions developed.
  • Complete all required training modules and certifications prior to the due date.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to ensure a safe work environment for all.
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external contacts.
  • Follow all Company policies and execute Company standards on appearance and functionality as well as appropriate brand representation.
  • Communicate any concerns or issues to leadership to ensure proper efficiency of department and company operations.
  • Maintains a high level of ownership by delivering work on time, engaging in timely cross-functional collaboration, and driving progress through self-motivation and initiative
  • Execute company initiatives and other activities requested by supervisor.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Contribute ideas on ways to optimize or improve the team, the department, and the Company.
