About The Position

Spend your summer in a fun, rewarding way by working with elementary school aged youth in our Camp Fire Alaska Summer Adventure Camp! This day camp program operates Monday – Friday in five school & community center locations throughout Anchorage and Eagle River. As a Field Trip Counselor you'll be responsible for ensuring the safety, supervision, and positive engagement of youth during field trips and off-site program activities. The role supports transportation logistics, maintains accurate attendance, and enforces program expectations while fostering a respectful and inclusive environment. The individual serves as a positive role model, communicates effectively with staff and partners, and responds appropriately to behavioral concerns or emergencies by following established policies and risk management procedures. Additionally, this position ensures adherence to program schedules to help create successful and well-organized field trip experiences. Get ready for adventure! Some of the awesome field trips we’ve enjoyed in past summers include bowling days, exploring the Sealife Center, visiting the Wildlife Conservation Center, discovering hands-on exhibits at the Anchorage Museum, and taking in the views on hikes at Eklutna Lake and Winner Creek Trail, just to name a few! You’ll also help plan and be part of weekly trips out to Camp Fireweed, where the fun continues with swimming, boating, archery, the rock wall, and plenty of other outdoor adventures. Every week brings something new to explore!

Requirements

  • Minimum Age Requirement: Eighteen (18) years old
  • Ability to transport self to work and to the Camp Fire office for trainings.
  • Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider, required American Red Cross preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with youth preferred.
