Why This Role Matters: Group1001 has an immediate need for an Indianapolis-based Senior File Transfer Engineer to support our expanding footprint. This role is part of the Enterprise Technology Services team and will report to the Director of IT. The Senior File Transfer Engineer role is to work in a team to provide IT-related support to all Group1001 offices, mainly in the area of File Transfer, deployment, and end user support. Primary responsibilities of this position are to provide end user support for corporate applications. Applicants must be proficient with basic to mid-tiered IT fundamentals. How You’ll Contribute: Consults with other internal and external technical experts to identify root causes of problems and/or system defects and determine practical solutions to correct technical problems. Maintains complete documentation of project status including work in progress, work completed, and outstanding tasks. Manage file transfer services software (MoveIT/Go Anywhere) and ensuring files are flowing as expected (inbound and outbound). Integrating the enterprise managed file transfer system with other software platforms throughout the organization. Collaborating with project managers, other engineers, administrators, and customers to deliver projects on time and on budget. Develop documentation for requirements, architectural designs, engineering drawings and diagrams, as well as creating operational policies and procedures. Documenting best practices for system installation, deployment, and operation. Onboarding new vendors and setting up the accounts and credentials. Submitting firewall requests. Managing access control lists and conducting periodic entitlement reviews. Stays abreast of changing technology and how technological advancements can be applied to business needs and applications. Performing basic Windows Server administration, including checking server status, verifying services are running and maintaining IIS web server. Uncovers and recommends best practices for use by the department. Researching and identifying products and toolsets to enhance productivity, stability, and security. Working closely with managed service providers to ensure connectivity and effective operation of all services among third parties and Group 1001. Participating in disaster recovery planning and testing. Actively participates in the improvement of department policies and procedures.
