A Filing Specialist’s primary responsibility is to focus on assisting customers through the process of their filing with the VA by ensure that the files are complete, accurate, and successfully submitted by our customer. This position also has an active role in assisting the customer to ensure all of the forms and information is accurate and complete.

Requirements

Must have great communication and phone etiquette.
Must have excellent computer skills and browsing experience.
Must be able to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to meet short deadlines and be ready to jump on other tasks quickly.
Must be detail oriented and be able to multitask.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
High School Diploma or equivalency.

Responsibilities

Downloading and reviewing the client’s provided information for accuracy and/or updates as needed.
Ensure all Disability Benefit Questionnaire’s (DBQ’s) are labeled as “Completed VA” or “Signed VA” before downloading.
Assisting the client to set up appointments through a remote access software system.
Contacting the client to confirm information, assist and guide them prior to the appointment time.
Sending DBQ’s to the client.
Verifying the client has active intent to file (ITF).
Ensuring the right conditions are used for filing and identifying discrepancies during the filing process.
Setting up appointments from the follow up list to file claims.
Other duties as assigned.
