About The Position

Under the direction of the Revenue Manager, the Revenue Analyst is responsible for monitoring and reporting on all City revenue streams.. The Revenue Analyst works closely with Finance staff for reconciliation and audit support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with the collection of all revenue streams. Assists in the execution of the city’s annual billing and collection for all City Special Services Districts. Oversees daily cashiering operations, payment posting, deposit controls ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue receipt for audit purposes. Assists with the reconciliation of revenue receipts/receivables into the financial system. Ensures the correct revenue amounts are received and assists with the identification of new revenue sources by researching local, national, and state mandated trends. Coordinate with interdepartmental efforts to achieve maximum efficiency in fee collection. Develops, implements, and oversees citywide revenue policies, internal controls, SOPs, and compliance processes to ensure accuracy, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance. Liaise with software companies to troubleshoot errors when processing tax payments. Process property value adjustments, performing digest corrections, coordinating with county and state officials, and resolving complex tax issues. Provides expert-level support and guidance to other departments, Finance Director, and leadership on revenue related questions, compliance concerns, and or statutory requirements. Ensures confidentiality of taxpayer information in accordance with Georgia law. Respond to taxpayer inquiries and requests, via the revenue email Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills in governmental accounting.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant financial software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Satisfactory credit and background check.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of governmental revenue collection.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices, including budget development and implementation, tax billing, and collection, and appeals.
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state laws, local ordinances, and department policies and procedures.
  • Skill in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Skill in utilizing financial computer software programs.
  • Skill in problem solving and decision making.
  • Skill in management and supervision.
  • Skill in gathering and analyzing complex data.
  • Skill in operating standard office equipment.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
