About The Position

PBS Distribution (PBSd) is a leading distributor of public media content around the world, entertaining audiences across platforms and formats. INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES: The Finance and Accounting Intern will gain a foundational knowledge of how the Finance and Accounting teams both function within PBSd to achieve and exceed company goals. This person will gain an understanding of financial reporting processes and how financial performance is measured. The Intern will work with the Finance and Accounting teams to analyze data, build financial performance reports, automate financial reports, perform Audits, and document processes and workflows.

Requirements

  • Rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (students who have graduated are not eligible)
  • Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Data Analytics, or similar major
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS office applications, especially PowerPoint and Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of data visualization and reporting platforms, such as Power BI, preferred
  • General exposure to financial tools and technologies, such as MS Dynamics 365, Quickbooks, NetSuite, or similar a plus

Responsibilities

  • Gather, clean, aggregate, maintain, and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders to build reports.
  • Prepare financial reports.
  • Provide support during external audits by collecting invoice documentation, contracts, and other required materials.
  • Provide administrative support by organizing and updating digital files, including account reconciliations and supporting documentation, to help maintain an environment that is ready for an audit.
  • Create automated reports leveraging either Microsoft Power BI or other financial consolidation systems.
  • Document process and workflows for financial reports.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
