About The Position

As the Finance Associate, you will provide important day-to-day support for the network's finance and compliance operations. Working closely with the CEO and Senior Finance and Compliance Associate, you will help ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately, records are organized, and compliance documentation is maintained. Your work keeps the finance team running smoothly and allows senior staff to focus on higher-level tasks and decision-making. In this role, you will assist with routine financial operations, support audit preparation, maintain organized and accurate records, and help ensure compliance with internal policies and funding requirements. Your contributions provide essential support that keeps the finance operations efficient, accurate, and compliant.

Requirements

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all financial and compliance tasks.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate smoothly with the CEO and the finance team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace; experience with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, or Amazon Business is a plus.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in all work.
Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; or Accounting certification
One (1) year of experience in a finance or accounting support role.
Working knowledge of budgeting, account codes, and funding sources.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suites
Experience using Google Drive tools, including Google Workspace.
Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of professionalism.
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

Nice To Haves

Experience with school finance operations.
Familiarity with Arizona's educational compliance environment, including AZDHS, AZDES, and AZCSB.
Experience using QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Amazon Business, etc
Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial and compliance work.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

Process accounts payable, purchase requests, reimbursements, and cash handling with accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with budget monitoring and verify transactions for compliance with policies and funding sources.
Support payroll documentation and processing, ensuring timely and accurate records.
Maintain well-organized financial records and assist senior staff with reconciliations and reporting.
Review and process invoices and support vendor coordination to ensure accuracy and proper documentation.
Perform daily finance tasks efficiently and reliably, supporting the overall functioning of the finance team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist with audit preparation and regulatory reporting requirements.
Ensure proper documentation is maintained for internal controls, grant compliance, and ADE/ASBCS requirements.
Assist with internal and external audit preparation by maintaining accurate, complete documentation.
Support benefits- and compliance-related processes under guidance from senior finance staff.
Ensure financial records adhere to internal policies, funding requirements, and regulatory standards.
Handle confidential financial information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
Perform other duties as assigned.
