About The Position

At Ando, we exist to make insurance better for New Zealanders — by focusing on relationships, not just transactions. From humble beginnings 10 years ago, we’ve grown into a team of 350+ people across Aotearoa. The role We’re looking for a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner to join our close-knit Finance team based in Auckland, reporting to our FP&A Manager. This isn’t a “sit in the numbers” kind of role. It’s about getting alongside the business, understanding what drives performance, and translating financial insights into real, practical decisions. You’ll act as a trusted advisor — helping leaders make sense of the numbers, spot opportunities, and plan for what’s next.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years’ experience in management or financial accounting in an NZ commercial environment (insurance experience is a bonus!)
  • CA / CPA qualification is highly desirable, but we are still open to considering those with very strong work experience who may not be qualified
  • Strong commercial acumen with a natural curiosity for how businesses operate
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
  • The ability to communicate complex information in a simple, relatable way
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and building trusted relationships
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine desire to add value

Nice To Haves

  • insurance experience is a bonus!

Responsibilities

  • Turn financial data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and ongoing performance tracking
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support planning and strategy
  • Provide commentary and analysis on trends, risks and opportunities
  • Support the development of business cases and growth initiatives
  • Deliver reporting for senior stakeholders including Exec, Board and Group
  • Help strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the business
