Finance Intern Based in Novi, MI, the Finance Intern will serve as a resource for the finance team across multiple disciplines. The position will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and Assistant Treasurer. This high-profile position will provide the right candidate with a variety of challenges, visibility to executive management and a unique opportunity to be involved in the accounting and treasury operations.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent program.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to build complex financial models.
• Exceptional oral and written presentation skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• High standards of professional excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Prepare and record monthly journal entries into the general ledger
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
• Assist in preparation of Intercompany invoices
• Assist in processing of Accounts Payable invoices using Robotic Process Automation
• Assist in gathering deliverables for Internal and External Auditors
• Assistance with preparation the annual federal and state income tax returns.
• Assist with the federal taxable income calculations.
• Compile state apportionment information.
• Assist with the state tax return information requests.
• Assist with foreign earnings and profits files.
• Assist with monthly sales tax reconciliations.
• Help facilitate Certify and travel expense reporting.
• Clean up expense reports for previous employees.
• Help monitor and track incomplete expense reports.
• Assist in analyzing potential new systems/tools.
• Provide operational support for daily liquidity and cash management.
• Ad hoc treasury and/or Business Analytics projects/analysis.
• Assist in consolidation of the cash forecast and support the implementation of updated template
