About The Position

We leverage data, technology and people in partnership with government agencies, law enforcement and corporates to assess risks and protect common interests. TRSS is seeking a motivated and analytical Finance Intern to support financial analysis and modeling efforts on projects related to U.S. government and national security missions. In this role, you will work with TRSS financial data to help analyze trends, support decision-making, and contribute to meaningful, real-world finance initiatives. You will receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals across finance, analytics, and business teams, gaining exposure to how financial insights are used in a complex, mission-driven organization. Throughout the internship, you will build practical skills in financial analysis, data interpretation, and business reporting.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in our McLean, VA office Tuesday-Thursday.
  • Currently enrolled in a business, finance, or accounting related 4-year degree program.
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.2.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office suite, with a focus on Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop formal presentations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • At least 18 years old and meet the same employment standards as permanent employees.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
  • Note: despite the requirement above, you will not need to apply for a clearance in this internship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete ad-hoc, analysis-based requests in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Investigate, analyze, and report on areas of interest to the finance and strategy teams as directed.
  • Communicate findings through written and oral presentation.
  • Interact with multiple teams in a corporate setting.
  • Work with a team of mentors to cultivate a positive internship experience.
