About The Position

The Multi-Site Plant Finance Supervisor reports directly to the Plant Finance Leader. This role is a finance professional who specializes in analyzing financial data and providing insights related to the operations of the site. This role involves working closely with both the finance and operations teams to support decision-making and optimize financial performance within the operational functions. This role supports both Euclid, OH and Grand Rapids, MI.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years Accounting/Finance experience. Minimum 2 years in a manufacturing environment
  • This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158
  • Candidate must reside within a 50 mile radius of Euclid, Ohio. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement

  • Ability to understand and communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders to ensure that financial insights are understood and acted upon by the operations team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities to achieve clear alignment between plant and region/division.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis and Performance Reporting: prepare regular financial reports and performance updates for the operations team and management, highlighting key financial metrics and variances to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with various plant functions to develop action plans, strategies and initiatives needed to achieve the expected targets.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with operations teams to identify inefficiencies and process improvement opportunities that can lead to improved results. Lead finance department activities related to process improvements and standard work. Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement for accomplishing department and plant goals.
  • Decision Support: Provide financial insights and analysis to support operational decision-making, such as evaluating capital deployment opportunities, cost out initiatives or new projects.
  • Supporting initiatives (including CAPEX- and WORKING CAPITAL) and influence changes: evaluate proposals for productivity improvements and growth in areas such as operational excellence, continuous improvement, quality, and supply chain management.
  • Risk Management: Identify financial risks within the operations and support mitigation strategies.
  • Inventory Management: Support inventory control actions and initiatives to maximize operational profitability while maximizing cash. Lead annual physical inventory for finance related activities.
  • Forecasting: Support the main financial processes for the site, such forecasts and profit plan
  • Cost Accounting: Analyze and interpret financial data related to the costs incurred by a company during its operations with the primary objective to provide valuable insights to management, enabling them to make informed decisions regarding cost efficiency, pricing strategies, and overall financial performance.
  • Accounting and Controls: Support transition and partner with the Accounting and Controls team to ensure plant leadership has a clear view of risks and opportunities.
  • Assist in development of finance department goals and objectives: Implement procedures necessary to direct department activities toward achievement of goals and objectives. Provide transparent feedback to the Plant Finance Leader on what is working and what is not, along with ideas for improvement when needed.
  • Building Organizational Capability: Advise, counsel, mentor, evaluate, and motivate finance personnel as necessary. Assist in the training of new finance employees. Ensure an adequate on-boarding plan is in place prior to start date, with on-going status checks to ensure completion in line with scheduled milestones.
  • Act as the primary financial representative for the plant during the Plant Finance Leader’s absence.
