A Lending Organization established to provide Credit Facilities to Small & Medium Businesses, Individuals, and Institutions that require Short and Medium Term Funding for various purposes is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant.
Responsibilities
Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
Analyses trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
Reports the organization's finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Consumer Finance Industry, astute at relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Gathers and monitors financial data (e.g., sales revenues and liabilities).
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements).
Forecasts costs and revenues.
Manages tax payments.
Organizes internal audits.
Prepares budgets (for the entire company and by departments).
Monitors and reports on accounting discrepancies.
Conducts detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments.
Analyses financial trends.
Performs month-end and year-end close processes.
Performs a variety of additional tasks as assigned with a certain degree of creativity.
Reports to management.
Requirements
4-6 years of professional accounting experience within a financial institution, eg, Microfinance Banks, Fintechs, etc.
Degree in Accounting from a reputable institution.
Additional qualifications like ACA, ICAN etc would be an added advantage.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Sound written and verbal English communication skills.
Advanced Computer Skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
