About The Position

Under minimal supervision, provides clients with specialized advice relating to investment and insurance products and services. Researches product/service offerings and recommends the most appropriate products or services to clients. Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory laws and rules relating to handling of client accounts and communication with clients. Provides functional guidance to Financial Advisors Associates. Handles accounts at the level of over $25,000.

Requirements

  • Excellent abilities with sales, organization, communication, time-management, analysis, customer service, interpersonal relationships and problem-solving.
  • Ability to ascertain the ideal approach or method to best serve a client’s financial needs.
  • Able to connect and establish rapport with existing and new clients to foster a positive and long-term business relationship.
  • Must maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of investment products and services.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of establishing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Requires licensure in Series 7, 63, 65 and insurance.
  • Five to seven years of experience as a Financial Advisor in a financial institution or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework or a degree in Finance, Business or equivalent desired or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sources for clients through working with potential sales lists, branch referrals, networking and cold-calling
  • Contacts members and clients to set up time to meet to discuss investments and insurance options
  • Conducts in-depth interviews with members and clients to review and assess six core needs: savings/liquidity, credit/loans, income now, income later, protection/insurance and legacy
  • Designs a plan and/or strategy in the best interest of the client.
  • Completes steps to follow-up on discussion; close sales opportunity as appropriate
  • Embraces key initiatives of the Credit Union ,where appropriate, which are fee-based advisory services, financial plans, fulfilling protection needs and conducting client educational seminars
  • Conducts periodic review of client portfolio to determine if changes are needed based on changing financial circumstances of client. Follow-up accordingly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with BSA requirements as commensurate with position.
