About The Position

Responsible for preparation and analysis of various financial reports in support of NASSCO’s shipbuilding and repair operations to be submitted to senior management, parent company (General Dynamics), and external customers. Perform other financial analysis as directed by manager or supervisor.

Requirements

• The position requires an undergraduate degree in business, preferably in finance, accounting, or economics.
• Strong personal computer skills are required, using Microsoft Office applications and database software such as SAP.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, analysis and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team environment are critical.
• Must be able to work when needed which may include holidays, weekends, overtime, and occasional travel.

Nice To Haves

• Some knowledge of EVMS (Earned Value Management System) principles desired, not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze various financial reports, forecasts, lease vs. buy reviews, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze annual department overhead budgets.
• Develop monthly overhead actual expense versus budget management reports.
• Perform ongoing cost analysis on all assigned contracts.
• Assist in the monthly contract estimates at completion analysis.
• Support bid development and audit requests.
• Maintain process documentation and desktop procedures.
• Evaluate existing processes for continuous improvement.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
