What You'll Be Doing As a Financial Analyst I, you will play a critical role in supporting the Credit Union's financial analysis, reporting, and planning processes, all while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency with NCUA guidelines. You will work closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and CFO to:

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance or Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial institution finance or accounting.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting and finance principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Strong written communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting principles (e.g., activity‑based costing, variance analysis, transfer funds pricing, capital allocations).
  • Willingness to develop expertise in CECL requirements and apply them to ACL analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monthly calculation of the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) and ensure CECL compliance.
  • Become proficient with asset/liability management software and help produce monthly financial statement projections.
  • Prepare daily and monthly financial reports for management, the Board of Directors, and the Asset/Liability Management Committee (ALCO).
  • Gather data and provide support during the annual budget preparation process.
  • Perform accounting and reporting duties for the investment portfolio, including monitoring pledged investments for public funds.
  • Assist in preparing monthly Profitability Reports.
  • Evaluate the financial strength of Credit Union vendors for vendor management purposes.
  • Prepare monthly Budget Variance Reports with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist with lease accounting using TValue software.
  • Support the preparation of the ERM Dashboard.
  • Contribute to the review of the quarterly Call Report prior to submission.
  • Help maintain and update the Peer‑to‑Peer model and produce comparative industry reports.
  • Review all computer‑generated financial model reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in the model validation process for financial software.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
