About The Position

This position will be based out of Atlantic Health - Morristown Medical Center - 100 Madison Avenue location. The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting financial data, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring the hospital's financial health. The ideal candidate is curious about numbers, data, business, and healthcare; Operations-based mindset is a plus. This role is a balance between financial analysis, business strategy, and implementation planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of at least 1 year of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably within a healthcare or hospital environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with MS Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of HPM, EPIC and Axiom strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the CFO and Finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze financial performance metrics, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Generate detailed financial reports, including variance analyses, and trend reports.
  • Utilize HBI/HPM cost accounting system to prepare contribution margin analysis report to aid in strategic decision making.
  • Monitor and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) related to hospital operations, revenue generation, and expense management.
  • Gather and analyze financial data, ensuring accuracy and consistency across various departments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations for executive leadership and board meetings.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in healthcare finance.
  • Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as directed by the C FO or Manager, Finance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
