This role independently leads financial planning and analysis (FP&A) efforts including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic modeling complex accounting tasks, supports month-end close and audit activities, and manages complex accounting tasks, supports month-end close and audit activities. The position serves as a key business partner to operational leaders by translating financial data into clear insights that support sound decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of accounting experience; healthcare or senior living experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently resolve discrepancies.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet firm deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset.
  • Business acumen with the ability to connect financial results to operations, strategy, and resident experience.
  • Sound judgment and accountability, including knowing when to escalate issues and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Adaptability and change agility in response to evolving priorities, systems, and organizational needs.
  • Strong process discipline with attention to accuracy, documentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and post monthly journal entries and ensure accurate integration of subsidiary systems into the general ledger.
  • Support and coordinate month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
  • Prepare lead schedules and support documentation for the annual audit.
  • Analyze accounts receivable, census, and revenue trends.
  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and long-range planning activities.
  • Develop and maintain integrated three-statement financial models (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the financial impact of operational changes, inflation, or market conditions.
  • Support annual budgeting by collaborating with department leaders to align financial plans with organizational goals.
  • Manage rolling forecasts and provide timely insight into year-end projections.
  • Analyze actual-to-budget variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and management reporting tools.
  • Prepare executive-level financial summaries and presentations.
  • Act as a financial business partner to departments such as Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to accounting and financial processes.
  • Support internal controls and compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Leverage automation and emerging tools, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Participate in special departmental or organization-wide projects as assigned.
  • Complete all required compliance and training activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
