About The Position

A critical part of our resort leadership teams, The Financial Controller is responsible for leading accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for the Resort Operating Group. This role ensures financial accuracy, operational transparency, and strategic insight to support leadership decision-making across multiple resort properties. How the Financial Controller works with the Team: A key element of this role will be to maintain cross-departmental relationships to aid in the planning, and reporting of visitation volume, revenue, expenditures, and key metrics and ratios across SNOW Partners Resort Operations Group. This position is part of the Senior Leadership Teams (SLTs) for Mountain Creek Resort and Big SNOW American Dream.

Requirements

  • All candidates must have a four-year accounting degree.
  • Strong background in accounting & labor systems such as SAGE Intacct and Paycom.
  • Experience managing, developing, coaching an accounting team (four team members)
  • Willingness to get involved in the business operations, as needed.
  • Ability to travel to resort locations, as needed.
  • Roll-up sleeves attitude with a hands-on approach to the work
  • Comfortable in a constantly changing dynamic environment

Nice To Haves

  • A CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Controller at a multi-site property is preferred.
  • Resort/Ski/Entertainment/Amusement industry preferred
  • Prior experience implementing accounting software and integrations with other software is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Planning, Reporting and Analysis Develop collaborative relationships with the Executive Team, General Managers, and Business Unit Trail Blazers and Guides
  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate financial updates for leadership communications including weekly SLT meetings.
  • Responsible for timely issuance of all assigned monthly and weekly reports including partners and banking relationships
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Manage the AP and AR Process
  • Partner with the President and Financial Operations System Administrator to move from manual spread-sheet heavy processes to fully automated workflows within the Sage Intacct environment.
  • Financial System Usage and Administration Become a competent user of source systems including SnowCloud (proprietary software), Sage Intacct, RMS/Solonis, Paycom, and others
  • Develop insightful reporting and analysis that will drive efficiencies in the businesses
  • Coach and train team members on financial systems and reporting
  • Enter company financials into source systems
  • Ensure each division is using the same processes and methodologies
  • Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors on year-end audit, review and income taxes.
