As a Hospital Financial Counselor, you’ll be a vital source of support and guidance, helping patients and their families navigate the financial side of their healthcare journey. Your knowledge, compassion, and dedication will ease the burden of medical expenses and empower patients to focus on what matters most — their health. In This Role, You Will: Conduct financial screenings and assist patients in understanding their ability to pay and available financial support options. Review insurance coverage, verify benefits, and explain co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket responsibilities. Educate patients on billing processes, insurance programs (including Medicare and Medicaid), and financial assistance options. Assist uninsured or underinsured patients in applying for aid and developing manageable payment plans. Serve as a liaison between the patient, hospital billing department, and insurance providers to resolve issues and ensure clear communication. Accurately document all patient interactions, applications, and financial agreements. Track key performance indicators such as financial aid approvals and patient satisfaction. Advocate for patients during times of financial hardship, providing compassionate and informed support.
