About The Position

Responsible to the Business Manager for performing a variety of professional administrative duties relative to the operation of the Department of Surgery including assisting and advising the Business Manager with strategic development, planning, and implementation of departmental goals; assisting the Business Manager in oversight and assurance that all administrative duties are accomplished; completing individual project assignments requiring assembling of data and drafting of documents and correspondence; serving as liaison between the Department of Surgery, Finance and Administration, ETSU departments, external vendors, external sub-contractor, and ORSPA; provides budget management within the Department of Surgery; maintaining records; managing, maintaining, monitoring and reporting financial data; balancing budgets; and preparing and submitting requisitions using the eBucs system. Collects data and conducts financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of university and Tennessee Board of Regents policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, finance, and management.
  • Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of budget management.
  • Knowledge of budgetary processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and various software.
  • Ability to analyze financial information.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Ability to plan and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with faculty, staff and students.
  • Ability to work effectively in detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to use standard office machinery.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating problems and making decisions.
  • Associate’s degree or Two (2) years of related work experience or Two (2) years of college.
  • Experience in balancing budgets, accounts receivables/payables, collecting data, and conducting financial analysis a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field.
