About the Role: We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Financial Planning Analyst to play a key role in organizational budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and strategic analysis that will directly support the long-term financial health and growth of the Association This role blends financial analysis, cross departmental partnership, reporting, and strategic insight. The ideal candidate is strong in communicating complex financial data into clear actionable recommendations to the leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years of financial analysis or related experience
  • Strong Excel and financial systems expertise (PowerBI, OneStream, GL software)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Advanced working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and financial ratios.
  • Advanced knowledge of technology-related applications, which may include general ledger software, Excel, PowerBI, and OneStream.
  • Listening, written, and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to present information and ideas clearly and understandably to others.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and time management skills.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Can effectively deal with ambiguity, cope with change, shift gears comfortably, and make decisions without having 100% of the data.

Nice To Haves

  • CMA certification
  • Farm Credit or Financial Services industry experience preferred.
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements the budget and completes additional forecasting in coordination with business units throughout the year.
  • Responds to requests for budget information and analysis.
  • Reviews business unit strategic priorities and business plan for alignment with budget assumptions.
  • Partners with business unit leadership to complete financial business case and ROI analysis on potential business investments, new partnerships, and/or products.
  • Supports development of multi‑year financial plans, including scenario modeling and long-range projections.
  • Provides ad-hoc financial planning and analysis as requested from leadership.
  • Analyzes profitability results, provides insight into key drivers, and makes recommendations for profitability enhancements.
  • Prepares, communicates, and leads discussion of profitability results with management and/or the Board.
  • Consolidates, prepares, and analyzes financial data to understand cause-and-effect relationships and identify drivers.
  • Guides business unit leadership to ensure sound financial decisions utilizing financial metrics that impact earnings, asset/liability management, and cash flows.
  • Provides insight on business development, spreads, non-interest income, and operating expense variances.
  • Collaborates with senior leaders to translate strategic objectives into measurable financial and operational goals.
  • Drives continuous improvement by providing recommendations to automate, refine, and implement processes, tools, and deliverables, both within Finance and supporting business functions.
  • Advises department leaders on cost optimization, resource allocation, and performance improvement strategies.
  • Translates complex data into clear, actionable insights tailored to financial and non‑financial audiences.
  • Gathers and develops financial modeling assumptions.
  • Conducts financial analysis and financial modeling in support of operational and strategic plans.
  • Evaluates strategic initiatives by modeling financial impacts, conducting sensitivity analysis, and quantifying risks/returns.
  • Assesses risks and opportunities and identifies key operational and financial issues to be addressed.
  • Communicates trends, risks, and opportunities with clarity to support organizational decision-making, which may include presentations to senior management and/or the Board.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization
