About The Position

This role is responsible for assisting members and potential members with their financial needs, selling services and recommending new products to improve our members’ financial well-being.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretions, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Must be organized and demonstrate the ability to follow guidelines.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to be self-directed.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow the organization's confidentiality and security rules.

Responsibilities

  • Sell credit union services and make qualified referrals while building superior account relationships
  • Accurately assist, develop, and disburse members’ loan requests
  • Receives and processes member financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments; sells money orders to members’ transfers amounts from member accounts as directed

  • Accurately process member transactions
  • Assists members with opening and closing accounts, processes transactions, and resolves member problems, inquires, or complaints. Refers problems to supervisor as needed, along with recommendations for resolutions.
  • Maintains accurate member account information on computer system and prepares required reports for management
  • Exhibits a positive attitude toward Credit Union initiatives and mission statement, supporting member acquisition and retention.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to use office technology such as a computer, internet, email, and other office related software
  • Ability to work in an office environment for at least 8 hours per day
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned
  • Open all accounts, certificates of deposit, and other credit union products or services in accordance with federal regulations, ensuring all related forms and documents are completed and filed/scanned in a timely manner
  • Actively cross-sell products and services to members to achieve or exceed all established individual and branch sales goals
  • Possess thorough knowledge of credit union products and ensure compliance with credit union’s policies, procedures, bylaws, and appropriate regulations
  • Accurately process member transactions
