About The Position

The Finish Carpenter – Custom Ambulance Cabinetry is responsible for the precision fit, finish, and final assembly of custom-built cabinets and interior components installed in emergency vehicles. This role requires high attention to detail, craftsmanship, and an understanding that products must withstand vibration, heavy use, and strict quality standards while maintaining a professional medical-grade appearance.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of finish carpentry or cabinet manufacturing experience (custom cabinetry preferred)
  • Strong understanding of cabinet construction, joinery, and finishing techniques
  • Experience working with laminates, plywoods, aluminum substrates, or composite panels
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a “first-time-right” mindset
  • Ability to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring tools
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces within vehicle interiors
  • Strong teamwork, reliability, and commitment to quality and safety

  • Experience in ambulance, RV, marine, or specialty vehicle interiors
  • Familiarity with vibration-resistant construction and secure fastening methods
  • Knowledge of quality standards, inspections, and continuous improvement practices
  • Experience working alongside electrical and mechanical installations

Responsibilities

  • Perform finish carpentry and final assembly of custom ambulance cabinetry and interior components
  • Fit, align, and secure cabinets, doors, drawers, and panels to meet tight tolerances and zero-rattle requirements
  • Install hardware including hinges, latches, drawer slides, locks, gas shocks, and specialty ambulance hardware
  • Adjust and fine-tune doors and drawers for smooth operation and secure closure during vehicle movement
  • Sand, fill, and prep surfaces; repair minor imperfections such as gaps, chips, scratches, or misalignment
  • Install trim, moldings, edge banding, and protective components to achieve a clean, professional finish
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions specific to ambulance interiors
  • Verify cabinet installation meets quality, safety, and functional requirements prior to final inspection
  • Collaborate with electrical, flooring, paint, and final assembly teams to ensure proper integration
  • Identify potential fit or quality issues early and communicate solutions to leadership
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a manufacturing environment
