Summary: Wood finishing, ranging from pigmented and dye stains to solid color lacquers, water-based lacquer, and poly finishes in a wood-related application. Will use air-applied and wipe-on stains and should have experience matching tones. Knowledge of how to use and maintain essential spray equipment is preferred. Being a self-starter who can work independently or as part of a small team is essential. Must be able to read and interpret blueprint drawings, and willing to help in other shop areas as needed.

Three years of related experience or training preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

Prefer experience in wood finishing, pigmented and dye stains, solid-color lacquers, water-based lacquer, and poly finishes, in a wood-related application.
Experience in air-applied and wipe-on stains preferred.
Knowledge of how to use and maintain essential spray equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Reads work orders and blueprint drawings or receives instructions from the supervisor regarding the project.
Smooths surfaces (scuff-sand) and prepares surfaces for painting.
Selects premixed paints or matches finish tones to samples, providing tonal continuity throughout the project.
Uses provided equipment to paint, spray, or finish the project. Will use air-applied and wipe-on stains.
Pays great attention to detail and uses an artistic ability to match stain tones.
Must be willing and able to help with various other duties in the Finishing Department (sanding, prepping, etc.).
Clearly understand and have the ability to perform the finishing process unique to each product/work order.
The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
