About The Position

Finishing Operator Position Overview The Finishing Operator rotates through several tasks during a normal workday and is responsible for completing the final stages of the rolling process. This includes operating and monitoring finishing equipment for both coil and cut-to-length steel. Full on-the-job training is provided for the Stelmor cooling conveyor, bar line conveyor, coil trimming, straight bar shear saw, stacking table, and all required packaging processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or willingness to enroll in our free GEDWorks program.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic math and communication skills.
• Strong collaboration, instruction-following, and problem-solving capabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift and/or overhead crane experience.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Safety awareness or related training.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Stelmor and bar line conveyors.
• Trim coil front and back end rings to quality specifications.
• Operate coil compactor and coil handling equipment.
• Operate the shear saw and stacking table.
• Operate a forklift.
• Maintain trimming equipment and manage scrap ring disposal.
• Follow all packaging requirements.
• Perform additional plant duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Support internal customer needs by working collaboratively with team members.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Meet all essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
