Finishing Tech - 1st Shift
About The Position
Xpressdocs is looking for an experienced Finishing Technician to join our Operations team. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of the printing industry and printing processes. Individual must be capable of operating finishing equipment in a fast-past digital print environment. This position is responsible for all facets of production and for providing a high-quality finished product that matches order specifications. The Finishing Technician will possess knowledge of line clearing, quality verifications, safety of equipment, make ready of machine, and running at effective equipment efficiencies. This individual is responsible for the completion of work performed, documenting issues and downtime of bindery equipment, handling standard preventative maintenance, and performing other necessary housekeeping tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of some, or all, of the following bindery / finishing equipment: Guillotine, Various Folders (Horizon Creaser/Folder, Stahl and MBO folder, Morgana DigiFold Folder), Horizon Saddle Stitcher, Perfect Binders, Coating Equipment, Rotary Die Cutter, Shrink Wrap, and any misc. bindery equipment as needed
- Basic computer skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine different bindery / finishing equipment set-ups and materials needed to run the job successfully
- Ability to work overtime, as pre-scheduled, and flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working a different shift if needed
- Willing to train the right candidate
Nice To Haves
- Equipment repair experience preferred but not required
- Mechanical aptitude a plus
Responsibilities
- Understand standard operating procedures of the department and follow them consistently
- Make adjustments to equipment based on job requirements.
- Performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
- Routing, staging, and documenting of product moved from machine
- Inspect & stack final product.
