The Fire Safety Monitor monitors the safety of tank entrants. Fire Safety Monitor issues VPro’s (personal monitor) and by making periodic visual/audible checks when employees are performing work in a tank or confined space (MDD-00209). check on the safety of entrants in several confined spaces or tanks in an area/building on a roving basis. To ensure the safety of personnel working the tanks or confined spaces by use of a VPASS (ETM) Electronic Tank Monitoring System with employees. Responsible for monitoring worker status and location from live information displayed on INET dashboard. Maintain various log records, receive and dispatch various requests via portable radio/phone. Will be trained as a Competent Person to certify atmospheres in all confine spaces according to OSHA requirement 29 CFR section 1915.7 subpart A. Assist with employee evacuations when directed, inspect fire extinguishers when needed, conduct safety evaluations of buildings and modules, and or any additional duty as directed by ETM supervision. Meet all requirements of MDD-00209, (ETM) Electronic Tank Monitoring system. Support the ETM system by recognizing, identifying and reporting issues with the ETM system. Diagnose and fix minor issues with the ETM system. Support the ETM safety system as a monitor. Issue VPro’s to employees Moving “Radius” signal boosters into place for best signal performance Resetting RGX box’s Monitor worker status, location and sensor reading on the ETM system. Post Confined Spaces according to MDD-00281(Atmospheric Safety of Tanks and Confined Spaces). Verifying tank exhaust ventilation tags. Monitor, Maintain, update and test ETM Communication Centers. Supporting the facility fire protection programs and enforce all requirements of Nav-Sea sections 045, NFPA 1, 10, 13, 2572 and 101, Local, state & Federal fire code regulations.
