Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 8+ years' experience in the fire suppression, fire sprinkler, or life safety industry, demonstrating a progressive career path from field technician to a lead or senior-level role.
  • 8+ years' experience applying NFPA codes in the field, with specific, demonstrable expertise in NFPA 10, 12, 13, 17, 17A, and 2001.
  • 8+ years' experience reading and interpreting MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) blueprints, including the ability to identify cross-system interdependencies and potential installation conflicts.
  • 5+ years' experience in a supervisory or lead specialist capacity, including direct experience scheduling field technicians, managing project timelines, and overseeing service repairs.
  • 5+ years' experience assisting sales or estimating teams with site surveys.
  • Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
  • Be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
  • Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
  • Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years' experience in the fire suppression, fire sprinkler, or life safety industry, demonstrating a progressive career path from field technician to a lead or senior-level role.
  • 8+ years' experience with mission-critical infrastructure, such as designing or supervising suppression systems for Data Centers, Hospital Labs, or Telecommunication hubs.
  • 8+ years' experience managing P&L including labor-hour tracking, material cost management, and the successful execution of change orders.
  • Current, valid, NICET level III or IV certification.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), and how suppression triggers integrate with HVAC sequences (smoke dampers, fan shutdowns) and Security/Access Control.
  • Advanced experience in mentorship and supervision with a proven track record of coaching Level 1, Level 2, and some senior level technicians to achieve higher industry certifications and improved field efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service and inspections based on NFPA 10, 12, 17, 17A, and 2001
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and describe them to owners and service managers for repairs.
  • Communicate system deficiencies and required repairs directly to owners and facility managers, translating complex technical issues into clear business risks and solutions.
  • Direct and supervise a team of Sprinkler Technicians and Specialists, ensuring Level 1 and Level 2 employees are meeting Bosch Building Technology's technical and communication standards.
  • Monitor and assure progress and completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Manage the master schedule for repairs, preventative maintenance, and large-scale projects, optimizing technician routing to maximize "wrench time" and meet client SLAs.
  • Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide service support on existing installations ensuring systems continue to meet existing building codes.
  • Assist Sales team during estimating phase including potential product or system demonstrations.
  • May perform inspections from man lifts at elevations of 30 to 40 feet from ground level, as necessary.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for emergency system failures, coordinating the rapid deployment of resources to restore life safety protection in critical environments.
  • Working knowledge of the operational characteristics of fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, and emergency/exit lights
  • Other duties as assigned.
