About The Position

Performs a variety of highly technical and specialized tasks involving and/or related to fire suppression, emergency medical services, rescues, hazardous materials incidents, fire prevention, fire inspections, administration, and other special assignments as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferable supplemented by college level courses in Fire Science
• Current on all TDSHS requirements for paramedic certification
• Current on all TCFP requirements for all certifications.
• Must possess a current valid driver’s license with a good driving record and be eligible to hold a valid Texas Class B Exempt Driver’s License and obtain that license within twelve (12) months of employment
• Must possess the following certifications
• Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) Basic Firefighter
• Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Paramedic
• Paramedic only will be required to complete Fire Certification within 18 months.
