POSITION SUMMARY: First-Year Advisor- The First-Year advisor is responsible for serving first-year students through advising, coaching, and supporting them as needed. The First-Year advisor seeks out and assists all students for the purpose of strengthening specific academic skills and long-term planning to improve students’ success. An academic coach/first year student advisor will advise approximately 250 students. Program Coordinator - The program coordinator for First-Year Experience promotes the mission of the First-Year Experience department and Bob Jones University by providing support to develop a constituency of regenerated students who have an adequate foundation to profit from a Christian liberal arts college education (BJU MS 2.5) and to aid faculty, advisors and other personnel who interact with first-year students. (BJU MS 1.6). The program coordinator is responsible for increasing the effectiveness of the First-year Experience department through the support of the Director of Student Engagement and Success.
